Obituary


John Randolph "Randy" Eaton died peacefully at his Florida home after a brief illness. Randy was born in Astoria, Oregon; grew up in Lanham, Maryland; and resided in Crofton/Gambrills, Maryland, before moving to Siesta Key, Florida, in 2009.





Randy was a 1970 graduate of DuVal Senior High School. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Joyce Maria, for over 44 years. After high school, he worked for Safeway Stores. In 1988, he became a stay-at-home dad. He later worked at George Poore's Produce and Plant Center for 15 years...

Randy was a 1970 graduate of DuVal Senior High School. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Joyce Maria, for over 44 years. After high school, he worked for Safeway Stores. In 1988, he became a stay-at-home dad. He later worked at George Poore's Produce and Plant Center for 15 years and retired in 2008.





Randy is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Eaton; his son, Dr. Jeremy M. Eaton, of Fullerton, California; and his sister, Terri (Mike) Howard of Edgewater, Maryland. He is also survived by his in-laws: Irene Maria of Lanham, Maryland; George (Peggy) Maria of Gainesville, Virginia, and Neil (Suzy) Maria of Perry Hall, Maryland. He was Uncle Randy to John (Lynette) Howard; Renee (Eric) Mundell; and Anthony, Nicholas, Gionna, Vincent, Domenico, and Talia Maria. He was the caring and fun-loving cousin and friend to so many wonderful people!





He was predeceased by his father, John William Eaton; his stepfather, Martin "Buddy" Wist, and his mother, Grace Boswell Eaton Wist.





Through the years, Randy enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golfing; horseracing; boating and fishing; dancing and reading; and just relaxing at the beach.





Randy's memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 4 PM at Boswell Hall, 6111 Columbian Way, Bowie, Maryland 20715. A reception will follow the service.
